Mommy to be in Summer ‘09! asked:
Hi
For the past week I have had this nagging ache in my right leg. It started in both my hips, but now is mainly in my right hip. It has radiated down my leg to my knee area as well now.
I went to the doctor and they said it was because I was 13 weeks pregnant, and the joints soften.
I think it is ridiculous, because I cannot walk and am practically bedridden. Driving myself to the doctor’s appointment today was so painful I was almost in tears.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I haven’t pulled anything either! I am going to an orthopedist this week, but in the meantime am in so much pain! I can only take one tylenol every 4-6 hours =(
So if you have had this during pregnancy, what prescription painkiller could they give you??
Thank you!

I had this with my first pregnancy and it ended up moving from my legs to my back. They gave me Loratab and sent me on my way. Problem being I couldn’t drive myself to work or stand up my whole shift once I got there if I took them during the day, so I could only take them at night. I know it sounds crazy, but really it is just the joints softening so that everything can move around inside you so the baby will have room to grow. It will ease up soon. I promise you won’t be in this kind of pain the whole time.
