Yes it is common. When you become pregnant, progesterone signals the release of relaxin, a hormone with softens ligaments so that the hips can spread (and uterus) and make room for the baby….So it’s normal, but if it really bothers you speak to your doctor…Try taking some tylenol to help with any inflammation…

**Yea it would where ever you have ligaments, especially if you are already prone to joint pain…Your joints aren’t getting as much support as before, as well as other factors, so it will cause pain…You could be dehydrated…try drinking more fluids…that may help…or it could just be the whether…my hip is killing me like it never has before! Started a few days after ovulation, so hopefully its a good sign for me! Who knows…There could be many reasons, as well as softened ligaments, that are causing you this pain…sleep with a pillow between your legs to help your knees…helps my knees and hip! Good luck and def. make sure to say something to your doctor…
